At thirteen years old I started learning the guitar and soon realised that music was to become a major part of my life. I studied both classical and rock at the same time so 8 hours+ practice every day became the norm.

At the age of fifteen I was already playing two or three gigs per week. Whilst playing in bands I also completed my classical training and later my commercial music diploma. I then went on to start my teaching career.

As well as my home based teaching I have also taught in schools, colleges and held various guitar workshops. I've been lucky enough to play with some fantastic musicians including fellow guitar tutor Mark Pitchforth and Tiny from 90's band "Ultrasound". I have also enjoyed working and recording with music producer Ken Thomas, who's credits include Manic Street Preachers, Moby, Diana Ross, The Supremes, Rush, Judas Priest, Sigur Ros, Suede and many more.

My focus now is on my private home based "one to one" teaching and with almost 30 years experience I believe proper technique is absolutely key to becoming a competent guitarist. It's poor technique that makes it difficult for most people to progress. Good technique is something that cannot be learnt from watching "Youtube" tuition videos, you need someone with you to show you exactly how to do it right and then tell you if you're doing right or wrong...we all need that feedback when learning.

I teach all styles and currently have beginner, advanced and semi-professional gigging musicians on my student list.
